A postnatal check up with a Specialist Women’s Health Physiotherapist is recommended to all women 6 weeks postnatally- be it after natural delivery or Cesarean Section. The postnatal check-up aims to address queries and concerns new mums may have about changes to their bodies in the postnatal period, assess and treat symptoms such as incontinence and prolapse and facilitate a gradual return to exercise at a manageable level for you.

It is never too late to address your worries or concerns. So if you have had children many years ago and never received a physiotherapy assessment and feel you are experiencing symptoms or have some unanswered questions, it is never too late.

  • Just had a baby and not sure if you need to be seen by a Women’s Health Physiotherapist?
  • Unsure of how to do your pelvic floor exercises, how often to do them, or why they are important?
  • Not sure when you can return to exercise, sport or running?
  • Feel like things “just aren’t right” since giving birth but being told it’s normal?
  • Experiencing symptoms such as a heaviness in the vagina, leaking or concerned you may have a Diastasis Recti or “Tummy Gap”?
